The Havelina Soft Touch was specifically designed for the ice arena industry. The patent pending Soft Touch requires less force due to its patent pending guide system, which helps align the bit with the drill chuck to efficiently engage the hammering action of the drill. This allows operators to remove the ice lip with greater control while helping maintain a clean 90-degree edge along the boards. The reduced force and improved alignment also help minimize the risk of damaging kick plates during ice edging maintenance. Automating the process reduces repetative impact to the shoulders and back., giving the ice technition a better day at work.

Initial setup out of the box typically takes about 15 minutes. Once assembled, bit changes are quick and easy as needed.
The drill can also be removed from the Havelina Soft Touch handle in just a few minutes if needed for other applications. However, for ice arena use we recommend keeping the Havelina Soft Touch permanently mounted, as most facilities use the Soft Touch as a dedicated ice edging maintenance tool.

Our patent-pending Soft Touch design improves control and reduces the amount of pressure needed to keep the drill hammer engaged. When used properly, the ice lip acts as a natural buffer that helps guide the chisel. The Soft Touch will reduce the damage to the kick plate caused by manual impact chipping. The tool is meant to be used with finesse—the “sweet spot” is when it begins to walk smoothly along the boards. Proper angle and steady forward movement are key to safe, effective use.
